Speaking of Jadeite and Amber Chunk (sp?).. How much do you guys think people will sell them for? It's easy to get 1 (only 1000 K/L Faction), so my guess is something around 300 or 400gold each

Did anyone get a chance to see what kind of materials (common or rare) are used for crafting standard assassin armor?

Which is why I didn't spring for Fissure Ascetic's for my monk when I had the chance about a month ago.

Isn't it only the 15k and whatever FoW equivalent armor that needs amber/jadeite? The 1.5k Kurzick stuff I saw in the preview didn't require any amber. And I kind of doubt they'd make it so every new set of armor you get requires you to spend more faction on materials.

But I doubt amber and jadeite will be all that expensive anyway. Two alliance battles or two of the repeatable quests will get you one, which is a lot easier than farming for ectos and shards now.

Even after seeing the new stuff so far, though, I still <3 my monk's FoW. I'll still go with the extra energy over the other armor bonuses available, and it would take a pretty awesome new armor skin to make me prefer its look over FoW. But I guess we'll see.

From what I understand so far, amber/jadeite are for 15k armors? I'm guessing rubies and sapphires will be what ectos and shards are for Fissure armor?

amber / jadeide are for the 15k armors. i'm pretty sure those are not the most expensive armors in the game.
there will be fow-like place with new rare materials noone ever seen before (they dont want anyone go there with the stack of ectos or rubies they bought and get the new elite armor after a weekend) and new vanity skin armors.
rubies/sapph will be used but not to craft armors. jewels is the answer.
no idea if jewels will be just vanity stuff or will have some use, doesn't change anything for me i'll grab them anyway

the amber and jadeite were used for 15k armor in the FPE. I only played a war in the event, so I don't know about all armors, but the standard luxon armor cost Scales and Chitin Fragments... so, A-net is incorporating some of the less used materials.

didn't see any usage of rubie's, saphires, or monstrous items.. I know they've mentioned somewhere, that there would be shells, from turtles or some such, thats why they changed the name to Chitin Fragments... and I've heard mention of small bones as a new material as well.

What are vials of ink used for? Monk tatoo armor and Necro scar? Anything else? Rolls of Parchment are also needed, right? I'm thinking about turning all my wood into rolls of parchment.

Yep there was interview saying that one new rare material will be "young turtle shells".

So far 3 new rare materials, I wonder if Both Factions have their own FoW-type armours with different ecto & shard type materials.

Accually its not sad its smart. I look at the merchants often to calculate cost of creating materials, buying from merchant, or players.

There are many materials right now at the break even point. When factions is released and prices go up from new players entering the game and vets wanting new content that will give you room to make huge profits.

Take for example an item that is 70g to create. You can sell it to the merchant for 50g. That is only 20g away from breaking even. Anything beyond that is pure profit.

1000 is your magic number here. Lets say you can sell that item to the merchant for 90g. That's a 20g profit from each item. Clear your stock of 1000 and you've made 20k profit. All for doing nothing but stocking now and waiting. Eventually the dust will settle and prices will balance out like they did for c1 items.

If you don't stockpile ahead of time you will miss that window of profit.

With the projections from the items I've stock piled with the suttle price increases I'm expecting to to make about 500k within the first few days of Factions. This is a suttle increase. As we know when something is new the price is sky high and then the market cools. I'll probly make more than what I'm projecting. You are only going to have 1 chance to get in on the profits after that you will be breaking even again like now.
